Didi Walson-Jack is the new Head of Civil Service of the Federation of Nigeria. Her appointment takes effect from the 14th of August, 2024.

Walson-jack’s appointment was approved by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the 17th of July, 2024.

In this article, Wrethers will be highlighting some facts about the newly-appointed Head of Civil Service.

Early Life and Career

Not so much is known about the early life of Mrs. Didi Walson-Jack, but growing up, she attended the prestigious Federal Government Girls’ College, Benin City, and the Federal Government College Ilorin. She proceeded from there to the University of Lagos, where she obtained a law degree in 1987.

Didi Walson-Jack started her Civil service career in 1996 as a State counsel in the Rivers State Ministry of Justice and was transferred upon creation of Bayelsa out of the old Rivers State.

In 2002, she rose to the rank of Solicitor-General and Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Justice Bayelsa State.

She transferred to the Civil Service in 2009, where she started as an assistant director at the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs. She has however rose through the ranks, deferring all odds and breaking all resilience through hard work.

Husband, Family and Children

Mrs. Walson-Jack is married to Hon. Nimi Walson-Jack and the couple are blessed with 2 children.
